| Welcome to the Apprentices of Jesus website!
I am Pastor Nar and I'd like to welcome you to the Apprentices of Jesus website. This website is born from a heart of appreciation for the unmatched love and immeasurable grace that God has lavished upon my life. This is not 'my ministry' - first, because this website is not about me; and second, I no longer ascribe to the notion of a separation between 'clergy' and 'laity' or any hierarchical system within the Body of Christ ... we are all on equal standing before the Lord and with each other: we are a 'kingdom of priests' with equal access to our God through Jesus Christ - we are all 'ministers'. We all have different gifts, talents and passions that are gracious gifts from a loving Father, intricately designed in us to display his love and grace, serve others, and expand his Kingdom in the world that he loves. My primary gifts are that of pastoring, compassion, teaching and encouragement. This website is one way of expressing my gifts and is an offering to him and those he loves. Whatever becomes of it - whether it becomes 'big' or goes relatively unnoticed is really of no matter, this is totally up to him. I cannot tell you how feeing that is! As I said, it is my offering, and it is up to him what he does with this offering. My heart's desire for this website is that it will be a resource for you on your journey of faith. Perhaps you will find something contained within this website to encourage you, no matter where you are along your journey. There are a variety of people who will be contributing to this venture. We are a group of people who come from different backgrounds and different spiritual traditions ... but we have one thing in common: we love Jesus and we are learning how to be his followers - his apprentices. We invite you to join us as we continue growing in the love and grace of God and how to live life to the fullest by following Jesus through the Kingdom of God. No matter where you find yourself in this journey, it is our hope that you will find something here to deepen your understanding and experience with God. If you are interested in learning more about Jesus - which is the first step on this journey - we'd like to share with you an amazing story and an amazing person. We won't try to shove anything off on you or try to change you - you are loved just as you are. We would just like to share with you a wonderful story - a love story that began before time within the First Community ... a story that continues today and which will continue long after time has run its course.. For those new to following Jesus, we will would love to help you get a good start on your journey by sharing with you some of what we've learned along the way - but it doesn't stop with just providing you with information ... we'd love to connect with you - through the website and email ... and where possible, in person - getting to know you, praying with and for you, and together tackle some of the tough questions of faith and life. To those of you who have been on the journey for awhile, we offer you a variety of resources to help you grow deeper in your experience with God and his people and seek to equip you to fulfill your unique calling in God's Kingdom. We also provide you a way in which to utilize your spiritual gifts and talents to help others as they make their way through the Kingdom. |
The symbol we have adopted for Apprentices of Jesus is classically known as the triquetra. The triquetra beautifully symbolizes the First Community - the Trinity: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This symbol expresses many aspects of the Trinity: Three Persons being one God - complete unity and equality without the loss of individual identity - the experience of mutual indwelling, true loving fellowship and submission based on relationship and not hierarchy, shared love and mutual delight -- the beauty of perichoresis ... the intertwining and everlasting dance of pure love; continually in movement and gracious flow - inviting creation to join the Eternal Dance. The color scheme chosen - reminiscent of the Classical Elements - reflects the fiery/warmth, nourishing, and cool/refreshing aspects of God's nature.
